1946  Taylorcraft  BC12D

NC43859

NC43859 was built in April of 1946 as part of the post WWII aviation boom.  A model BC12D, it sports a Continental A65-8 engine producing 65 horsepower.  We purchased the aircraft in 1989 and kept it at a dirt strip on the Colorado front range.  After flying it for a while we took it apart for restoration.

During restoration NC43859 will have float fittings added and using the Harer S.T.C brought up to Model 19 specifications.  Among others modifications, this will include a larger engine, electric starter and a higher gross weight.
